About Me

The Returd Highway - from Retirement to Oblivion (possibly via incontinence and dribbling or both). We walked 1000 km of it last year on the Bibbulmun Track, but to discover more of the true Oz, we needed wheels (four) and a bed. We just got them. We plan to just take off and make for significant points - how we get there is a matter for chance and circumstance. So hold on to your hats and anything else that might blow off, we'll keep you posted on our voyage of discovery.

Talk about passwords

I just don't know about this blog technology. I don't think that I am a Luddite - hell, I was on the Internet before many people even knew what it was (come to think of it, few people today know what it is - they just use it) - but this stuff leaves me cold. It's some bright young PC-savvy nerd saying "This is the application that you want - you can do this and this and this..." and we all conform because...it's there. If I get too grumpy let me know.

Anyway, this blogsite was set up with the help of Justin and Renee a few days ago and everything went swimmingly until some bright young PC-savvy nerd decided that there should be a 500 character limit on the blog description box (WITHOUT TELLING ME UP FRONT!), and that caused several rejections until I trimmed down the thousand or so words I had already penned (oh and no character count to help you either). No reason to get grumpy though.

I thought I had a good strong password - the invisible nerd also thought it was a "strong" password and told me so - and it was good and strong too because I lost the frickin' piece of paper I wrote it down on (remember paper?) and my memory musta failed me by one character or capitalisation or somethin' because I just couldn't log into the site last night. That meant an embarrassing e-plea to change my password and now I am back. I wrote this sucker down on another piece of paper that I am keeping (I might even get a tattoo of it perhaps - that might help and it seems to be a compulsory modern form of communication). So  all this and we haven't even got onto the road yet. Our camper is currently being modified so it's still a little while before we leave. I might even blog a description of our camping setup for those who are interested. Won't that be spiffy?

We're off. Day 1 of the journey!
